Wednesday Night Bible Study
Wednesday evenings— March 2 through April 13 at 7pm, Pastor Sam Alexander welcomes you to join in online via Zoom for a new class “What is Christianity? (Maybe not what you think it is).”
Can I be a Christian and reject the belief . . .
•that God breaks the laws of nature? . . . Sure, you can!
•that all Buddhists, etc., are going to hell? . . . Absolutely!
•that God causes suffering when we’re “bad?” . . . You bet!
What is Christianity? – maybe not what you think. Religions like everything else are evolving. Christianity is no different. It’s no longer your grandparents Christianity - not that there was anything inherently wrong with their version of the faith. It’s just, we live with a very different worldview now. We need new language to describe our faith. We will be exploring that new language in this class.
What does it matter? What concerns me most is that people are living without purpose and direction other than, “I want to live as long as a I can, as comfortably as I can.” We see the results of that everyday; just watch the news. Faith provides the purpose we are missing. Join us for an exploration; see what I mean.
